Biographical Notes

Brett McCoy is a composer and guitarist living in the suburbs of Washington, DC. He has been studying music since 1981, and spent several years taking lessons in guitar, with a focus on jazz and classical styles, and also studied music theory and composition formally in high school. Subsequent to that, Brett studied many different musical styles, including medieval & Renaissance, Middle Eastern, jazz, blues, folk, heavy metal and orchestral/symphonic styles. In 2008 - 2009, he studied orchestration under film composer Ben Newhouse through Berklee College and is currently working towards a Master Certificate in Orchestration for Film & Television through Berklee College, to be completed in 2011.
